NEC Cares provides short-term (under 24 hours) observation and crisis stabilization services to all referrals in a home-like non-hospital setting.

NEC Cares is designed to enhance the availability of crisis services in Northeast Indiana while providing an integrated network. The network includes collaboration with the established suicide and crisis lifeline, local mobile crisis response teams. The program is open 24/7.

  • Provides no-wrong-door access to mental health and substance use care.

  • Will offer walk-in, referral, and drop-off options.

  • Individuals receiving care will be assessed for: medical stability, suicide risk, substance use crisis, & a violence risk assessment.

  • These crisis stabilization services are designed to reduce, improve, and prevent a behavioral health crisis and/or reduce acute symptoms.
