Meaningful membership
Northeastern Center’s New Hope Clubhouse is a program for adults living with mental illness, helping members regain the confidence and self-esteem needed to live and work in their communities. With opportunities for skill development, employment, socialization, and more, members can find purpose, build relationships and lead normal, productive lives.

New Hope Clubhouse is …
- A service for adults to learn daily living and work skills.
- A member-led organization.
- A voluntary program.
- Where staff and members work collaboratively.
- Where you’ll find “members.”
New Hope Clubhouse is NOT …
- A day program or drop-in center.
- A staff-led organization.
- A program anyone is required to attend.
- Where anyone provides clinical therapy or medication management.
- Where you’ll find “patients, clients, or consumers.”

Skills Training
To help members get back into the workforce, Clubhouse provides hands-on training opportunities to learn or sharpen employment and life skills. A typical day at Clubhouse is designed to replicate a workday, with each member assigned a job.
Work opportunities include: Banking, Reception, Thrift Store, Medical Billing, Social Media, Newsletter, Podcasting, Library, Catering and more.
Employment opportunities
The Transitional Employment program helps members overcome one of the biggest obstacles they face: Finding and maintaining consistent employment. Benefits include:
- Earning income from a job in your community.
- Short-term (six to nine months) roles with opportunities to try new or different jobs.
- No interviews – Clubhouse staff select the most suitable candidates.
- Onsite training and support every step of the way.
- Opportunities to transition to supported or fully independent employment.

Employers
New Hope Clubhouse could help you fill a variety of positions. When you partner with us to create a Transitional Employment role for our members, Clubhouse staff will:
- Select the best candidate for the role, eliminating the need for you to sort through applications and schedule interviews.
- Provide onsite training for each new employee, saving you valuable time and money.
- Fill in for the employee whenever they are absent (since regular work attendance can be a hurdle for many adults living with mental illness), ensuring you always have coverage.
